My Christmas Present

Isn't this the best thing you've seen? My very artistic friend Laura is married to Michael, a very talented man. She had the idea, the vision, and he ran with it.

Must. Have. Must. Have. Must. Have.

So I got one. (they have more....)

And I asked for it unfinished, so I could stain it to match our existing woodwork.

I did, and it does.

But....

It didn't look very happy on those western beige walls. Not that a prayer list, by rights, would always be happy, but still.....it just hung there, washed out, sad, lonely.

Not anymore...

A little bit of red makes everything happy!

And I didn't stop there.

  1. The Prayer List looks great with your stain!! (Thank you SO much for the prayers too.) I DO like it even better on the red wall with that stain. : ) We have similar paint color tastes. Our school room is (Valspar) Radiant Red, although most times we do our book work by the fire, in the sun room, which is that(Valspar) Sage color. The main living room is 3 shades of Sherwin Williams warm tones: Softer Tan (main walls),Macadamia(stairwell) and Basket Beige (inset part of main living room.)
I can't believe you got all of that painting done that fast. Looks perfect too!
I want to know more about that stove I see at the bottom of the stairwell!

  4. That's a really cool gift! Love it! Hey, is that MY name on that list there? Do you have other, cooler friends named "Laura N."? I'll just pretend it's me, even if it isn't.

Also, I liked the red... but you knew I was going to say that.
