I discovered a book at the library yesterday, and have been unable to put it down.
The Farm Book, written and illustrated by Rien Poortvliet. His art is amazing!
I have requested some of his other books through our library - Noah's Ark, The Living Forest, and He Was One of Us.
If you can get these at your library, you should.
Truly breathtaking.

I don't know how I missed this post....but I clicked on that Farm Book link, and it sucked me right in!! I laughed reading the first page: there are 2 kinds of people > those who grew up on a farm, and those who wish they did. I'm the latter!! I say it ALL of the time! What's more...I'm an illustrator, (and worked as one for 11 years), and so I can truly appreciate his illustration work too. I want to BUY the book now. If I borrow it from the library, I may not return it. What's 5 cents a day for the rest of my life, for a book like that?? lol Yeah...I should buy it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting about his work, and other books too!
